The Faculty of Agricultural Technology is one faculty among 18 faculties in
Gadjah Mada University (GMU), Yogyakarta Indonesia. The focus of studies is to
develop and apply sciences, knowledge and technologies in agricultural covering food
processing in agricultural products, agricultural engineering, and agroindustrial
technology. Agricultural Technology covers knowledge to utilize, to process and to
manage the natural resources and biomass in agricultural for human needs and human
welfare that environtmentally sustainable, friendly, clean and healthy. In the system of
industrial economic, agroindustry is identified as industries and groups of farmers that
can provide foods and agricultural nonfood materials for the society. Efforts to improve
the quantity and quality of agricultural products to establish agroindustries and to make
better environment, need human resourses having good capability in engineering, food
processing and management in agroindustry. It is clear that agricultural technologies
will be the main cores for nation development and for prosperous society through
agroindustry. Persons who join the Faculty of Agricultural Technology Gadjah Mada
University will be educated and trained to be scientists that capable to develop
sciences, knowledge and technologies in the field of agroindustry.
